XRV 1000 Twindero - The best attributes of “AfricaTwin” and “Varadero” blended into one bike.
For all those who were expecting a stronger big trail bike, and then were disappointed by a road-oriented tourer of baroque proportions, when the XL1000V appeared, an alternative has manifested itself in the Twindero concept.
The focus has remained on tour comfort, which is why the weight reduction turned out about 8 kg less than the more radical "Marathon" conversion (17 kg).
Frame, swingarm, engine, the associated peripherals and tank were left untouched. Everything else has been modified or replaced by conversion parts.
Derived from the Africa Twin, a more streamlined fairing provides slimmer fairing replaces the fat original covering while still providing very good wind protection.
Lighter rear mufflers moved closer to the frame, allow for a more compact designed rear section.
A reshaped seat with now uninterupted top surface increases the rider's freedom of movement and underlines the leaner line of the motorcycle.
The more aggressive looking Africa Twin style paint design enhances dynamic appearance and makes the bike look even more compact.
To improve ridability on unpaved roads, wheels, suspensions and braking system were replaced (plausibly with removed CBS). The result convinces with better stability on loose ground, more ground clearance and tilt-free, improved suspension performance with more reserves and separately adjustable brakes.
